Save JPG vs Export JPG in Photoshop
When working with images in Adobe Photoshop, two primary methods are available for saving or exporting JPEG files: the "Save" and "Export" options. Although both options produce JPEG files, they differ significantly in terms of file size and quality.
Save JPG
The "Save" option allows users to save their images directly to a file, using the JPEG format. The default quality setting for the "Save" option is typically around 70-80%. This means that the saved image may have some loss of quality compared to the original image.
Export JPG 100%
On the other hand, the "Export" option provides more control over the output quality and file size. When exporting JPEG images, users can choose to save them at 100% quality. This setting ensures that the exported image is of the highest possible quality, but it will result in a larger file size compared to the "Save" option.
Lossless JPEG Transforming
It is important to note that the "Export" option does not support lossless JPEG transforming. This means that if you need to save an image with no loss of quality while maintaining a smaller file size, you may need to consider other formats like PNG or TIFF.
