In this article, we will guide you through the process of upgrading the BIOS on an ASUS X370 Killer SLI motherboard to support the Ryzen 7 3700X processor and enable TPM for Windows 11. Before we begin, ensure you have the necessary components and backup your important data.

Prerequisites

  • ASUS X370 Killer SLI motherboard
  • Compatible Ryzen 7 3700X processor
  • Power supply unit (PSU) with sufficient power
  • Windows 10 installation media (USB or DVD)
  • Backup of important data

Upgrading BIOS

  1. Download the latest BIOS version

    Visit the ASUS website and download the latest BIOS version for your motherboard. Ensure the version number is higher than the current one installed on your motherboard.

  2. Create a Windows installation media

    Follow the instructions provided by Microsoft to create a Windows 10 installation media using the Media Creation Tool.

  3. Backup important data

    Backup all important data to an external hard drive or cloud storage to prevent data loss during the BIOS upgrade process.

  4. Enter BIOS setup

    Restart your computer and press the Del key during boot to enter the BIOS setup.

  5. Save current settings

    Save your current BIOS settings by clicking on Save & Exit and selecting Save All Settings. Name the file and save it to a USB drive.

  6. Update BIOS

    Click on Advanced and then BIOS Update. Browse to the location of the downloaded BIOS file and click on Yes to begin the update process.

  7. Verify BIOS update

    Once the BIOS update is complete, restart your computer and press Del during boot to enter the BIOS setup. Verify the new BIOS version by checking the version number in the BIOS setup.

Enabling TPM for Windows 11

  1. Enter BIOS setup

    Restart your computer and press the Del key during boot to enter the BIOS setup.

  2. Enable TPM

    Navigate to the Advanced tab and enable TPM and Secure Boot. Save and exit the BIOS setup.

  3. Install Windows 11

    Install Windows 11 using the installation media created earlier. Ensure TPM is enabled during the installation process.
