Creating a Three-Page Poster in Photoshop for Printing
In this article, we will discuss the process of creating a three-page poster in Photoshop, designed to be printed on three A4 sheets and stuck together to form a larger poster. The final size of the poster will be 210x891mm (three A4 sheets in landscape orientation).
Setting up the Document in Photoshop
To get started, open Photoshop and create a new document. Set the width to 210mm and the height to 891mm. This will give you a single document that is the size of three A4 sheets placed side by side in landscape orientation.
// Create a new document in Photoshop
File > New
// Set the width to 210mm and the height to 891mm
Width: 210mm
Height: 891mm
Designing the Poster
Once you have the document set up, you can begin designing your poster. This can include adding text, images, and other design elements. Keep in mind that the poster will be printed on three separate sheets of paper, so you will need to divide the design into three sections that will fit on each sheet. It can be helpful to use guides to mark out the boundaries of each section.
// Add guides to mark out the boundaries of each section
View > New Guide Layout
// Set the number of columns to 3 and the gutter to 0
Preparing the Poster for Printing
When you are happy with the design of your poster, it's time to prepare it for printing. First, make sure that the resolution of the document is set to 300 pixels per inch (ppi). This will ensure that the poster is printed at a high enough resolution to look clear and sharp.
// Set the resolution to 300 pixels per inch
Image > Image Size
// Set the resolution to 300 pixels per inch
Next, you will need to save the poster as a PDF. This will ensure that it is in a format that can be easily printed. To do this, go to File > Save As and choose the PDF format. Make sure to select the "Press Quality" preset to ensure that the poster is printed at the highest quality.
// Save the poster as a PDF
File > Save As
// Choose the PDF format
// Select the "Press Quality" preset
Printing the Poster
Finally, it's time to print the poster. To do this, open the PDF in a PDF viewer and choose the "Print" option. Make sure to select the correct printer and to set the page size to A4. You will also need to print the poster in landscape orientation, with three pages per sheet.
// Print the poster
// Open the PDF in a PDF viewer
// Choose the "Print" option
// Select the correct printer
// Set the page size to A4
// Print the poster in landscape orientation, with three pages per sheet
