Moving a Section or Section Group Back in OneNote
In Microsoft OneNote, you may need to move a section or a section group to reorganize your notes. This article will cover the process of moving a section or section group back in OneNote, including keyboard shortcuts and methods for moving multiple sections at once.
Moving a Section
To move a section in OneNote, follow these steps:
- Click on the section tab that you want to move.
- Click and hold the section tab, then drag it to the desired location.
- Release the mouse button to drop the section in the new location.
Alternatively, you can use the following keyboard shortcut:
Ctrl + Shift + PgUp / PgDnThis shortcut will move the current section up or down one position in the notebook.
Moving a Section Group
To move a section group, the process is similar:
- Click on the section group tab that you want to move.
- Click and hold the section group tab, then drag it to the desired location.
- Release the mouse button to drop the section group in the new location.
Unfortunately, there is no keyboard shortcut for moving a section group.
Moving Multiple Sections
To move multiple sections at once, follow these steps:
- Click and drag to select the sections that you want to move.
- Click and hold one of the selected section tabs, then drag it to the desired location.
- Release the mouse button to drop the sections in the new location.
Note that you cannot move multiple section groups at once. Each section group must be moved individually.
Troubleshooting
