Connecting OBS Studio to Dlive.tv for Streaming and Recording
Dlive.tv is a popular streaming platform that allows users to share their content with a global audience. OBS Studio (Open Broadcasting Software) is a free and open-source software for video recording and live streaming. Prerequisites
- An account on Dlive.tv
- OBS Studio installed on your computer
Setting up OBS Studio
After installing OBS Studio, you need to set it up for streaming to Dlive.tv. Follow these steps:
- Open OBS Studio
- Click on Settings in the lower right corner
- Click on Stream in the left-hand menu
- Select Custom Streaming Server
- In the Server field, enter
wss://real-time-ingest.dlive.tv - In the Stream Key field, enter your Dlive.tv stream key. You can find this by going to your Dlive.tv dashboard, clicking on Stream Key, and copying the key.
Adding Sources in OBS Studio
After setting up the stream, you need to add sources to OBS Studio. Sources are the elements that make up your stream, such as your webcam, microphone, and desktop.
- Click on the + button under the Sources box
- Select the source you want to add. For example, to add your webcam, select Video Capture Device
- Configure the source by selecting the device and adjusting the settings as needed
- Repeat these steps for each source you want to add
Starting the Stream
After adding sources, you are ready to start the stream.
- Click on the Start Streaming button in the lower right corner
- Go to your Dlive.tv dashboard and click on Go Live
- Your stream should now be live on Dlive.tv
Recording the Stream
In addition to streaming, OBS Studio can also record your stream.
- Click on Settings in the lower right corner
- Click on Output in the left-hand menu
- Select Recording in the left-hand menu
- Click on the Browse button next to Recording Path and select where you want to save the recordings
- Click on the Save button
- Click on the Start Recording button in the lower right corner
- The stream will now be recorded and saved to the selected location
Re-streaming the Stream
If you want to re-stream your stream to another platform, you can do so using OBS Studio.
- Click on Settings in the lower right corner
- Click on Stream in the left-hand menu
- Click on the + button next to Service
- Select the platform you want to re-stream to
- Configure the re-stream by entering the server URL and stream key
- Click on the OK button
- The stream will now be re-streamed to the selected platform
