Setup: Use RDP (OpenVPN) Home Connect Work PC
Mostly work with VMWare Workstation session (home remote Win11). The taskbars are set to auto-hide.
Issue:
When connecting to the work PC, the taskbars do not appear, making it difficult to access and manage open applications.
Solution:
Follow these steps to ensure that the taskbars appear when connecting to the work PC:
Start the VMWare Workstation session on the work PC.Enable the Remote Desktop (RDP) connection on the work PC.Connect to the work PC using an RDP client (such as Microsoft Remote Desktop or MobaXterm).Once connected, press the Ctrl + Alt + Delete keys to open the Task Manager.In the Task Manager, click on the Performance tab.Under the Graphics section, click on the Windows Experience Index link.In the Windows Experience Index window, click on the Change settings link.In the Performance Options window, click on the Visual Effects tab.Uncheck the box next to Adjust for best appearance.Click on the Apply button, then click on the OK button to save the changes.Restart the work PC to apply the changes.Reconnect to the work PC using the RDP client.The taskbars should now appear when connected.
