Viewing, Managing, and Playback History in VLC for Android TV

VLC is a popular open-source multimedia player that supports a wide range of audio and video formats. In this article, we will focus on the functionality of VLC for Android TV, specifically on the features of viewing and managing playback history in the app.

Playback History

Playback history in VLC for Android TV is a feature that allows users to keep track of the media files they have played. The history is automatically saved and can be accessed at any time. To view the playback history, follow these steps:

1. Open the VLC app on your Android TV.
2. Navigate to the Playlist tab.
3. Scroll down to the History section.

The History section will display a list of all the media files that have been played. Each entry will include the name of the file, the date and time it was played, as well as the duration of the playback.

Managing Playback History

In addition to viewing the playback history, VLC for Android TV also allows users to manage it. This means that you can remove entries from the history, as well as clear the entire history. To manage the playback history:

1. Navigate to the History section in the Playlist tab.
2. Press and hold the select button on your remote control to select an entry in the history.
3. Use the directional buttons on your remote control to navigate to the Remove option and press the select button to remove the entry.

To clear the entire playback history:

1. Navigate to the History section in the Playlist tab.
2. Press and hold the select button on your remote control to select the entire history.
3. Navigate to the Clear option and press the select button to clear the history.

Subtitles

VLC for Android TV also supports subtitles for videos. To use subtitles:

1. Navigate to the video you want to play.
2. Press the select button on your remote control to open the context menu.
3. Navigate to the Subtitles option and press the select button.
4. Choose the subtitle file you want to use and press the select button.

Note that the subtitle file should be located in the same directory as the video file. Additionally, the subtitle file should have the same name as the video file, with the exception of the file extension. For example, if your video file is named movie.mp4, your subtitle file should be named movie.srt.
