Disable Transparent Window Background while Dragging in Windows 10
Have you ever noticed that when you click and drag a window in Windows 10, the background of the window turns semi-transparent automatically? While this feature can be visually appealing, it might not be preferable for all users, especially when sharing screens or presenting applications.
Understanding the Behavior
When you click and drag a window to move it in Windows 10, the window's background properties are changed temporarily so that the user can see the underlying windows and objects. This behavior is commonly referred to as "Aero Snap."
Disabling the Transparent Background
To disable the transparency of the window background while dragging, follow these simple steps:
- Press Win + R to open the Run dialog.
- Type
sysdm.cpland press Enter. - Navigate to the "Advanced" tab in the "System Properties" window.
- Click the "Settings" button under the "Performance" section.
- In the "Visual Effects" tab of the "Performance Options" window, uncheck the "Enable desktop composition" option.
- Click "Apply" and then "OK".
After completing these steps, the transparent background while dragging Windows should be disabled. Note that this change will affect visual effects system-wide.
