Pin Two Different Terminal Applications to Win 11 Taskbar and Launch with Keyboard Shortcuts
With the release of Windows 11, many users are excited about the new features and improvements over its predecessor, Windows 10. One of the new features is the ability to pin different terminal applications to the taskbar and launch them using keyboard shortcuts.
Pinning Terminal Applications to the Taskbar
To pin a terminal application to the taskbar, you first need to open the application. Once the application is open, right-click on its icon in the taskbar and select "More options" from the context menu.
In the drop-down menu, click on "Pin to taskbar". This will add the application to the taskbar, allowing you to quickly access it in the future.
You can repeat these steps to pin a second terminal application to the taskbar.
Launching Terminal Applications with Keyboard Shortcuts
Once you have two terminal applications pinned to the taskbar, you can launch them using keyboard shortcuts. The default keyboard shortcuts are Win + 1 and Win + 2, where Win refers to the Windows key on your keyboard.
To launch the first terminal application, press the Win + 1 keys simultaneously. This will open the application in a new window.
To launch the second terminal application, press the Win + 2 keys simultaneously. This will open the second application in a new window.
Additional Customization
You can further customize your terminal applications by right-clicking on their icons in the taskbar and selecting "Properties" from the context menu.
In the Properties window, you can change the icon, set the application to always run as an administrator, and adjust other settings.
